NES
The Nintendo Light Zapper, released in 1985 alongside the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), is a light gun accessory designed for shooting games. Shaped like a futuristic pistol, the Zapper allows players to aim at on-screen targets and pull the trigger to register a hit. It works by detecting flashes of light emitted from the television when the trigger is pressed (effective on CRT screens but incompatible with modern displays). Initially released in a gray color, the Zapper was later redesigned in bright orange to comply with toy gun regulations. It remains one of the most iconic NES peripherals, fondly remembered for its simple yet engaging gameplay.
